In July 2020 we were awarded the contract to complete energy upgrade works for Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin. This involved a bit more than our usual mechanical works.
DOC fulfilled the role of PSCS & completed works to reduce the school’s energy bills. The mechanical works involved upgrading the boiler house with new gas boilers, new BMS controls, replacement of existing heating pipework & installation of new radiators & a new gas compound. The electrical works included complete rewiring of the school & upgraded light fittings & controls, installation of a lightening protection system & 64 panel PV system. For architectural works, the existing roof build-up was upgraded to a bauder roofing system, an external Weber insulated render system & internal Isover optima system was installed. Cavities were pumped with Kingsland Eco bead, a new AMS window system was installed and to complete the works we installed new window & skirting boards & window liners.
The only thing that got in our way at times was the temperamental Connemara weather, but our dedicated team got the works completed.
It was a pleasure to work with the design team consisting of Aramark Workplace Solutions, Heavey Kenny and Kevin Jackson Architects on this project.
